Straight-edgedness

this isnt really a debate to start out with, but i'm assuming its gonna turn into one.

why does one become straightedge? (besides because "drugs are stupid")

whats a straight edge? like no drugs& no alcohol?

I'm straight edge because I feel that drusg are a completely negative influence on people's lives.

They don't do anything positive. [No, getting high is not a positive thing to me] All they've done for the people I know id gotten them in juvy and in jail.

I'd just rather not fuck up my life.

ok, that explains why you don't do drugs, but what about when you're 21 and can legally drink?

i mean, i'd rather not fuck my life either, but i dont think drugs (at least the ones i use) are as responsible for fucking up lives as stupidity and bad decisions are.

and steff: being straight edge is a life-long commitment to never do any drugs, including tobacco and alcohol, and not to have promiscuous sex.

i don't drink, smoke or do drugs and i don't really plan on it but i don't call myself straight edge

i didnt really plan on doing it until the night i first did it.

I still won't drink. I just don't see the point in using drugs or drinking. I know it's possible to drink without getting drunk. I just, don't see the fun in it.

anyway i chose to be straightedge because i didn't get all happy and excited when i smoked up for my first time. i just didn't enjoy it. i don't drink because the one time i had mixed vodka and gatorade together after a football game i missed my bed when going to lay down and cracked my head against my nightstand [didnt need hospitalization mind you...although im still kinda fucked up in the head. LOL] and i dont smoke cause i tried it about 13-14 times and i just did not like the taste or the fact that i felt like i needed a drink every 5 seconds and also needed to spit like every 3. as for the sex. thats none of your business mo'fo. haha. JK JK!

anyway yes this is why im straightedge and i dont plan on changing anytime soon within my life. nuff said yo!

it seems like you dont do any of those things because you tried it and didnt like it. what about the people who either tried them and liked it and then went sxe, or have never tried them and went sxe?

i mean, i dont like black licorice but i dont make up a name and lifestyle for not eating it.
